James Tarkowski Burnley. Cookies on PremierLeague. West Ham take on Burnley in a potentially crucial showdown that could be enough to secure their position in the Premier League for next term.
The Clarets are flying high in tenth with a genuine shot at sneaking a Europa League place. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Dyche has his team fantastically well organised. Hammers, too wasteful in possession, not clinical, but gave it a right go. Possibly should have tucked away one or two of clear cut chances.
Oh well, onwards to the next. Is the Pope Burnley? He was tonight — 3 terrific saves kept West Ham to nil. But West Ham have missed an opportunity for an important point or three.
This Burnley team is superb. All credit to the players and manager in what's been a ridiculously tough situation.
We're winning with a left back playing right wing ffs. Nick Pope is amazing , up the clarets. Rob Olivier. Nice one Burnley!
He WILL dethrone Pickfraud. Anyone But Me. David Moyes: "Winning is what I do! Roll up roll up Nick Pope outstanding! Keyser Soze.
Burnley are such an underrated side they are really difficult to beat. Come on you clarets! Good to see that David "I win games that's what I do" Moyes has still got it.
Sean Dyche also named three changes as Aaron Lennon, Ashley Westwood and Matej Vydra came in for Robbie Brady, the injured Jack Cork and Jeff Hendrick.
The visitors showed their character again, though, by equalising 10 minutes later. Just two minutes after coming on, Brady whipped in a corner for Wood to head into the corner of the net.
A couple of minutes later, West Ham missed a gilt-edged chance to go in front for a third time when Anderson's curling strike kissed the far post.
However, the Brazilian made amends shortly after when his shot took a huge deflection off Mee to leave Hart with no chance.
There was further drama when Wood - who scored twice in the corresponding fixture last season - saw a header crash off the bar but in the end, it was West Ham who grabbed the sixth and final goal of the game when Hernandez slammed a shot into the roof of the net after being picked out by Michail Antonio.
Soucek is a good goal threat both at set pieces and running into the box from midfield, Antonio stretches teams with his pace when not completely knackered , Haller is back to add height to the forward line, Bowen and Yarmolenko both offer a decent threat from wide positions, and all in all they should have enough.
Burnley meanwhile will just continue to Burnley their way into Burnleyable positions, as they do. Sean Dyche has a gloat chat. They sit ninth tonight.
But we defended well when we needed to and we had a few moments when we could have got our nose even further in front.
We need to work hard and reverse this situation," Pellegrini added. Burnley's opener came from a corner, but West Ham's defenders were convinced that they should have had a goal-kick, claiming that the last touch before the ball went over the byeline had come off Barnes.
And the hosts were celebrating what appeared to be a goal for Wood when referee Kevin Friend paused the game before overturning the effort.
West Ham had just one touch in the Burnley box before half-time, but seemed to be improving after the break when Roberto, who had often looked uncertain under the high ball, turned Westwood's corner behind him for the third.
The Spanish keeper did make some excellent saves following his error, but a bad day for West Ham saw them end the game with 10 men after substitute Manuel Lanzini was carried off with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.
Burnley's hard-to-beat image had taken something of a knock before West Ham's visit, with nine goals conceded in three consecutive defeats.
Manager Sean Dyche branded as "unacceptable" his side's performance seven days earlier in their loss to Sheffield United, where all three goals went in before half-time, but this display at Turf Moor was a marked improvement.
Both full-backs were changed, with Phil Bardsley and Charlie Taylor making their first league starts of the season, but reuniting the partnership of Barnes and Wood up front gave Burnley the cutting edge they missed at Bramall Lane.
Barnes scored his fifth of the season, and his first since 25 August, when he poked home James Tarkowski's nod-down from a corner.
Wood had been sorely missed during the previous two matches because of a hamstring injury, and his disallowed goal had seen him elude two defenders to expertly head home Dwight McNeil's accurate cross.
The West Ham keeper may have gifted Burnley their third, but in truth the hosts already looked to be heading for a comfortable win with centre-backs Tarkowski and Ben Mee giving the Hammers' forward line little to play with.
West Ham's promising start to the season, which saw them lie in fifth in late September following a fine win over Manchester United, is a distant memory after a day to forget.
Much went against them, with the disputed corner that led to the first goal followed by an injury to West Ham captain Mark Noble, forced off after 20 minutes.
Lanzini's serious-looking injury continued their misfortune, but Pellegrini's side were architects of their own problems before then.
Roberto's slack throw out caught Balbuena off guard, with the defender then allowing McNeil in to set up Wood for Burnley's second.
It was a truly bizarre display by Roberto, with that throw, uncertainty at crosses and his dreadful own goal contrasted with excellent saves to deny Wood, Bardsley, Jeff Hendrick and Jack Cork to keep the score just within the bounds of respectability.
Burnley keeper Nick Pope did not have a save to make in the first half, with West Ham failing to score in the league for the fourth time this season.
The international break appears to offer Pellegrini some respite, but it is followed by difficult looking fixtures against Tottenham, Chelsea, Wolves and Arsenal within 16 days.
West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini: "I don't know if it was an unacceptable performance. We conceded the first goal from a corner that was not a corner.
I am concerned at the easy goals we are conceding. We need to change.
