Navigate wrote a review Mar We stayed at this "resort" for 2 months. This is not a resort! I would classify this place as a motel with 2 pools, There are no resort activities.
The rooms are all in need of updating and repair. No one does inventory between guests, so many items are missing or ancient. Refrigerators leak and air conditioners leak.
Expect huge puddles in your room for days. The amenities listed that are supposed to come with the unit are not correct.
We had no beach blanket, umbrella, hangers, salt and pepper or oil, and they provided a half roll of toilet paper on the first day and a tiny bar of soap.
Those are never replenished. Before arriving, we were told that there was consistent wifi in the lobby area. I was working there, so needed reliable internet access.
The internet was unreliable work was nearly impossible. We had an issue with a leaking air conditioner for six days. The bed is directly under the unit, so was soaked through.
The manager's solution was to put a garbage can under the dripping air conditioner. The manager was extremely unprofessional in his interactions with us, never offering to move us to a different room until we told him we wanted a new air conditioner after six days of being inconvenienced.
There is no information in the room or in the lobby about how to contact management while staying at the resort. There is no list of emergency phone numbers or what to do in case of emergency.
Date of stay: January We stayed one night, the bed smelled bad sheets that were never changed. The bathroom was so filthy dirty.
No one was in the reception except this guy who was barefoot. I will never go back there. Date of stay: February Rooms. Room Tip: Don't waiste your money.

This is a rinkydink operation that should not be allowed to call itself a resort. There is a tiny lobby with nobody on the reception desk and a generally rundown look everywhere.
The pool is tiny and the bar around the pool has been closed for years. There is no gift shop, no restaurant, and wifi olny in the lobby.
The walk up to the property from the main road is almost a 45 degree slope and would challange all but the fittest person. Some of the photos used to advertise this property are not the Flamingo Marina Resort.
They are photos of the privately owned condominiums at the beach level below this resort. They also advertise access to a private beach which is also used by the condominium clients and, the locals have every right to use that beach too and they do.
So, not so private. Most of that beach is dangerously rocky and often very rough anyway. Oddly, the flamingo Marina Resort has no Marina.
There is a marina being built down the road but it has nothing to do with this resort. The noise and dust from that marina construction was horrible.
Trucks were dumping rocks all day every day. The construction is supposed to take years. Some of the reviews that I have read about Flamingo Marina Resort are actually written about the private comdominiums, which are very nice but they are a completely different business.
Read carefully! Really folks, there is nothing resort-like about this place. It is in decline. Don't be tempted by their lower prices, there is a good reson why they are lowering prices.
It is way over priced for what you get. Date of stay: January Location. Sleep Quality. Linn wrote a review Jan Gothenburg, Sweden 28 contributions 2 helpful votes.
SCAM, dont book this dirty hotel! Dont book a room here! The room we were given was not the room we booked. More over: - It lacked the aircon in the living room - It lacked plants and paintings - It lacked the armchairs - It lacked the sofa table - Furnitures were very old and torn But worse was that the appartment was very very dirty.
Even though the receptionist claimed they had just been there cleaning when we checked in, there was a trail of ants in the kitchen by the sink clibing around on the kitchen bench.
The outside of the once white cupboards were brownish of dirt. It was dust on the shelfs and the duvet in the bed had large brown stains.
It was also a hole in the closet and a hole in the roof outside the door. I would say that this place was a dump Also, the pool bar, restaurant and dance floor had been permanently closed.
Since we are travelling with a 9 months baby and need to cook we showed the receptionist the ants etc and asked if she ad another room available the one we booked that obviously was given to someone else.
Unfortunatelly she had nothing to offer us so we had to check out and leave since it was already late Complimentary toiletries. Clothes rack. Ocean view.

LovingGrandma wrote a review Mar Coquitlam 1 contribution 3 helpful votes. A Great Month. My husband and I who are in our fifties stayed at The Flamingo Marina Resort in Guanacaste Province Costa Rica from Feb 2nd - March 3rd.
We picked this resort on the internet , WHAT A GREAT CHOICE!! The resort was beautiful, very quiet, clean, with very friendly staff.
We stayed in the hotel in an apartment with a full kitchen it had everything we needed. There was a bank across the street and a few restaurants near by.
We could also eat at the resort, we didn't because we had the kitchen. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food. There was a grocery store down the hill from the resort, didn't have much choice for us as we were staying for a month doing most of our own cooking.
We inquired and found a super market about a twenty minute walk down the highway. It had …. Date of stay: February Helpful Share.
Great spot, no night life. We took a family vacation, 2 50ish parents and 2 early 20s; all the other comments in earlier reviews were right on target.
Clean, friendly, exceptionally well maintained. Food above average, breakfasts great. Tour desk staff Roger went out of his way to provide great help for car rental, tours, directions.
No nightlife within 20 miles--so not great for the young adults, but for smaller childern this hotel would be ideal.
Pool chairs uncomfortable--need cushions. Jacuzzi was not operational and beach access a bit of a joke, very small rocky beach. Clientelle seemed mostly Costa Ricans or past hotel users.
We would definitely stay …. Date of stay: December GypsyGirlRaleighNC wrote a review Mar Raleigh NC 10 contributions 10 helpful votes.
Dazzling Views. My husband and I stayed at the Flamingo Marina resort for five nights in February. Our one bedroom accomodation was very clean and we had a gorgeous view of Flamingo bay.
The ocean breeze was such that we did not need to use AC at night and we were delightfully awakened each morning by sunlight pouring through our large window and deck.
The light weight bedspreads probably could have used updating but they were clean. The swimming pools were very beautiful and the grounds were very well kept.
Like others, I found that the hotel reception staff made no efforts at all to be welcoming or helpful, This is contrary to my exeriences elsewhere in Costa Rica where I have found most Ticos to be delightfully welcoming and helpful.
The pool bar and restaurant staff were, however, …. Good choice for Playa Flamingo. Our family of 4 2 teenage daughters, 50 something parents spent a week at the Playa Flamingo Marina Resort.
For the most part, the hotel fit the bill perfectly. The 2 bedroom condo was spacious, had excellent air conditioning, was right next to one of the several pools on the property, and was very well maintained.
In fact the Playa Marina was perhaps the cleanest place we've seen in our 5 years of spring break trips to the Carribean and Central America.
Contrary to some of the reviews, we found the staff very helpful and friendly; perhaps others were frustrated because some of the help spoke poor English.
The …. Date of stay: March Yosemite, Ca 22 contributions 19 helpful votes. Great property, awful staff. I stayed for 3 nights in early Jan.
If you are looking for a place to relax, this is a good location, but there must be better choices. One of the rooms had dirty sheets on check in and the hotel staff were very rude.
I had a room with a "jacuzzi" outside, but it took 4 requests for the staff to fill it and then the water didn't get hot. In fact, our room did not have hot water at all, but the room next door did.
